Today I invite you to join me in creating a Vision Board! This is a project that I look forward to yearly and I have a blast while creating. After I create my vision board, I place it where I can view it, focus on it and reflect on my visions, goals and aspirations daily. I also update my vision board throughout the year with my accomplishments, insert a new goal or focus in any area of my life that may not have been apart of the original plan, hey things can change.
Vision Boards are necessary as a visual aide reminding you to stay on task, meet the deadlines you have set for yourself in order to see to it that dreams, things you want to accomplish and goals you have set manifest. Your vision board should include your personal, family, financial, home, educational, career, business, travel, and hobbies. Everything that you desire and visualize for your life should be apart of your vision board.
Here are a few things you will need:
- Board
- Adhesive
- Writing Instruments
- Personal Photos, Magazine and Newspaper Articles
- Planner, Journals, Notebooks and/or Calendars
Be creative with what you choose to use as your board and add to your vision board. Be realistic as to how your items will relate to what you are expecting to manifest in your life. You don’t have to go out and spend tons of money to create your vision board, however, having a beautiful look attracts you to look at what you want to accomplish. A visually beautiful vision board invigorates your thoughts with excitement of what’s to come.
Boards|There are a wide variety of items you can use to house your visual photos and quotes such as a framed cork board (which is what I’m using), large picture frame, canvas, a door, a wall, MDF or poster board just to name a few. Your vision board can even be digital on platforms such as Pinterest or Microsoft Word.

Adhesives|You will need some adhesive such as double sided tape or push pins to attach your photos, quotes, magazine articles, printouts and affirmations. A glue gun will be great for attaching large decorative, plastic and/or metal items to decorate your board.

Writing Instruments|If you have beautiful handwriting or maybe you have calligraphy handwriting skills, what better way to personalize your vision board than with your own skills utilizing various writing instruments.
Personal Photos, Magazine & Newspaper Articles|Your personal photos, magazine articles and pictures along with your favorite quotes and affirmations will be what you place on your vision board to visually aide you in remembering what you want and assist you with focusing on how to get there.

Quotes, Affirmations, Stickers & Letters|I absolutely love reading various scriptures, quotes and setting my own affirmations. Scriptures and Quotes help to inspire and motivate you toward whatever your goals are. Affirmations are sayings I create that are specific towards me and my goals. I read them in the morning and before bed daily as I am speaking things into existence, also what is known as the law of attraction.
Planners, Journals, Notebooks & Calendars|Yes, planners, journals, notebooks and calendars are an important part of your vision board. While creating your vision board is fun to do, you must realistically set out a plan on how you will reach your goals and plans. Now I don’t suggest you attach these items to your vision board, but here is a general purpose for each item. A notebook will assist you in executing your goals and plans by putting in place and formatting the actions you will need to get to the said goal. You can look at it as your rough draft to obtaining your goals. You can plan out, revise, note what’s working and what is not working. A journal will assist in a similar function as the notebook, however, I use my journals as a final draft, journaling my progress not brainstorming as in the notebook. A calendar will assist you in setting specific dates and deadlines, be it daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. Setting specific dates is important and helps you be accountable to yourself in getting what you have visioned.
To get started you will need to set aside at least 1-2 hours to create your vision board. If you need longer than one day it’s ok, however, I suggest you get done within 1-2 days in order to start executing and fulfilling your dreams & goals. Find a quiet place and turn on some music that inspires you. Get the beverage of your choice, maybe even take a bubble bath before you start.
Locate a surface to layout and put together your photos, pictures, & letters such as a desk or dining table. Lay your board on your the surface of your choice. Cut out all of the photos that represent who you are, where you are going and what you want to obtain as far as your dreams and goals. Next glue, pin, tape your photos, letters, list and so on to your board. Remember this can also be done on as a digital vision board alone or as a duplicate. Once you have laid everything out visually, now you want to get your calendar or planner out and set those dates. Make your vision board as simple or as fashionable as your heart desire. Visit your board and planner daily, weekly and monthly and note your progress. I wish you the best!

When I was a student, I used a planner. I even write in events on my phone.
Just never made a vision board.
